How it works
We provide the Retail Express Stocktake App we have developed and supply for your Android PDA scanner. You will require a paid license to run this. You can send data via your Wi-Fi network or if using the CT58, also the 4G network.. You also have the option of saving the data to the device so you can retrieve the data after the stocktake has finished.
You will also need to familiarise yourself with a tool from Retail Express called Retail Express Excel scan tool
Basically, this tool allows you to push all your products into it via mass product download.
Then at the end of the stocktake, the data collected from the Android PDA scanner will be a text file called the REX Counts file. This is also imported into the REX excel scan tool.
Now if there are any differences from what you have counted in the stocktake with the PDA scanner, compared to whats in your system, you will see a variance in the REX excel scan tool. You will need to make sure which is correct. The scanner or your data in system. Once you have resolved all variances, you save data in the excel scan tool and send back into Retail Express as a csv file. Your system is now updated.

Exciting New Upcoming Developments!
We are expanding our software app solutions for REX customers. Currently only offering the full stocktake solution – REX stocktake app. By end of year and hopefully in time for Xmas, Track n Trace will be offering another 2 x new solutions! Unlike the current REX stocktake app, both these two new solutions will be communicating directly with the customers Retail Express database via an API connection.
Stock Adjustment Application – The second solution will be called Stock Adjustment. This will allow the user to walk around and make stock adjustments on the fly. An example is that user will scan an item on shelf. This will connect with your database (via Wifi or 4G) and user can see stock on hand (SOH) in your system via the Stock Adjustment app on screen of your PDA scanner. If the SOH is showing 5 but the physical count is showing 10 on shelf, then user can make the correction on app and change to a qty of 10. This will instantly update SOH in their REX database.
Mobile Orders Received – The 3rd application will be called Mobile Orders Received. This will allow the user to scan all orders coming in and compare against orders sent out to suppliers. Any item not received against an order, will be flagged immediately.
Stay tuned for more info on these two new applications. We also intend on bundling all 3 x application together. There will be a small subscription cost for these applications as well. Existing customers will not be affected with their current Retail Express Stocktake app on their devices. They will only be charged a subscription cost if they decide they want to also use the new applications.
